Dr Stephan Berks County Veterinarian

Dr. Steve Stephan

Dr. Steve Stephan is the owner and founder of Bernville Veterinary Clinic. He is a Tulpehocken High School Class of 1978 graduate. He attended Penn State University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, earning his VMD in 1987. His medical areas of interest are feline and canine medicine as well as soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Stephan has lived in Bernville for most of his life, now living with his wife and three children who all attend or attended Tulpehocken and participate in athletics. Their oldest son is now attending Penn State University. Living with the Stephans are their wildly misbehaving four dogs and three cats. Dr. Stephan enjoys Tulpehocken and Penn State athletics as well as visual and musical arts in his spare time.

Dr. Heather Westfall, VMD

Dr. Heather was an emergency room technician for 10 years before graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary school in 2005. 

She has a positive attitude, sense of duty and great sense of humor! She loves surgery of all kinds, including complicated dental and all  medical cases!

Dr. Heather is very involved in rescue & volunteerism and currently has her own rescue called Henry’s Hope for medical, surgical and senior animals and appreciates all of the help and support that Bernville and our wonderful clients have given her.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her many rescued creatures, her husband Dan, movies and music!

Dr. Elizabeth Devorak


Dr. Elizabeth Devorak grew up in Montevideo, MN. She received her Bachelor’s degree from South Dakota State University in 2013, her DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, and completed her clinical training at the University of Minnesota. Her veterinary interests include both surgical and internal medicine of both canines and felines. She resides with her significant other, Dr. Billman and their Coconut Retriever Gambit & orange tabby cat, Gus. Having recently moved to the area, she is excited to get involved with local rescue organizations and volunteer opportunities within the community. In her spare time, she greatly enjoys spending time outdoors.
