Dawn is a Pennsylvania native who moved to southwest Florida in 1984 and returned home to PA in 2017. She has been a Veterinary Technician since 1987 and has had the privilege to have worked with many species of animals including big cats ranging from African servals and black man lions to leopards and siberian tigers. Living in the Everglades gave her the opportunity to work with Frank Weed, who was, at the time, one of the foremost experts in Florida panthers and other non-domestic cats, working hands on with the cats and occasionally aiding the Florida Panther Preserve in Everglades City. The Florida Wildlife Research Facility and Frank provided the needed hands on hours for aquiring licensure for working with big cats and gave the opportunity to work with other native and non-native invasive species.

Dawn has worked as an emergency and critical care veterinary technician as well as a primary care technician and enjoys working with all species, even the scary snakes and creepy crawlies! She has a special interest in birds from finches to large macaws and has owned a Red Lored Amazon Parrot for nearly 25 years. Her heart is with chickens and hopes one day to share her life again with a flock of hens.

Dawn's home is currently occupied by herself, three cats and a pomeranian. She enjoys cooking, gardening, camping, and crafting ans id an acrylic fluid art artist. She also enjoys spending time with her family.

Dawn is a graduate of South West Florida College and is currently attending Penn Foster College.
