I would like to introduce myself. I am a distinguished older gentleman who is at least 10 years old. My name is Stevie Wonder. I am neutered and I have clean teeth. Well, the few I have left are clean! I am sight impaired, but that doesn’t stop me. I like to be petted and sleep in my little bed. My favorite activity is relaxing. I would be a good companion for an older person or someone with a quiet home. I know I can’t see, but I deserve a home just as much as everyone else! No small kids for me!

As a 7-year-old, Chancey was brought to the shelter in terrible condition. She had not been groomed for a very long time so her coat was matted all over and her nails were so long that they grew into her pads. Chancey had skin, eye and ear infections, and a thyroid condition. She went into an amazing foster home through the ARL’s Grey Muzzle program and was treated for all of her health conditions. Because her skin condition was so severe, her brow drooped over her eyes – so she is scheduled to have a brow lift! Chancey found a forever home this week!

Our friends at Grey Muzzle are participating in the St. Patty’s Marsh Madness Polar Bear Plunge on March 17th and they are asking for your support! The St. Patty´s Day Marsh Madness is a swim into Blue Marsh in the cold of winter.
Grey Muzzle will receive 50% of all the sponsor money collected. The rest of the cash will go to support the Berks County area YMCAs.
Grey Muzzle and ARL has six “plungers” participating and they need your support. Contact Marcy Tocker at firstname.lastname@example.org to become a sponsor!
If you want to come out and support the team and see the chilly swimming, come out to Blue Marsh Lake, Day Use Area at 11 a.m. on March 17th.
We first met Holly, a Grey Muzzle dog, and her foster mom when she came in to our hospital for a check-up. She is a Chihuahua mix with a heart of gold. After having surgery to remove her bladder stones she is right as rain and ready for adoption. She would love nothing more than to spend these cold winter months snuggled up on the lap of her new owner.

Bernville Veterinary Clinic has a special place in its heart for groups that share our commitment to caring for those in our society that are at the greatest risk …. that’s why we are a strong supporter of Grey Muzzle, which removes vulnerable senior and special-needs dogs from the shelter environment and places them in foster homes where they can thrive.
Grey Muzzle is an important part of the Animal Rescue League of Berks County. The shelter environment is a stressful and scary place for all animals, but for older dogs it is especially traumatic. Unforutnately senior dogs are often overlooked in favor of young puppies. The Grey Muzzle foster program places these dogs in foster care where they receive the necessary medical and dental care they need to make them adoptable.
Since the program was created in 2009, Grey Muzzle has adopted out more than 250 senior dogs!
